Our design studio located in Ghana is head by our Creative Director and an innovative design team. Many of our baskets are variations of baskets designed by local artisans in Ghana's Upper East. We have invented new designs, that we hope will help expand the basket industry in Ghana. So far we have uniquely designed the Pet Bed Series, The Baby Changing Pad, and the Wall Set.
Coretta Owusu is a lawyer, advocate, and entrepreneur. Coretta received a Juris Doctor in law from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also attended the Wharton School of Business Management certificate program for legal professionals. Coretta has over seven years of experience as an entrepreneur, business professional, and consultant in the United States and West Africa.
Coretta leads Design Dua with her passion for design, creativity, and innovation.
Coretta has a passion for Africa and aims to create opportunity for rural artisans through community empowerment, education, and awareness . Coretta created Design Dua to display the true beauty of African design to the world by giving locals an opportunity to truly benefit from the art they create.
